Gaming can really bring joy into your life.

That’s why it’s no surprise that the number of gamers has risen by 1,000,000,000 in the last 7 years.

This means that there are a lot of gaming systems to choose from: the PlayStation series, the Xbox series, the Nintendo series, you name it.

The chances are that you own one of the above if you’re reading this.

Perhaps you’re getting bored of your console. You’re curious to experience gaming in a different way.

Switching your gaming experience to PC could be the thing you’re looking for.

Here’s why:

#1: Size does matter

PC’s are bulky things. You need them on a desk, with a chair, with a monitor, with the tools to run it.

That can take up quite a bit of space.

They’re bigger than your console because of what they’re able to achieve. I call them the 3 B’s:

Better visuals
Better performance
Better experience

These things truly change the experience you have when you’re gaming. There’s nothing better than revisiting an old favourite on your PC, where the game looks and runs better than it ever did before. It’s like playing it again for the first time.

Better visuals and performance means better immersion. Isn’t that what it’s all about?

#2: More games to discover

PC has so many more games to offer. It’s just true.

As of December 2022, Steam alone has a total of 50,000 games listed on their site. That number has probably gone up as you’re reading this.

Steam is the goldmine for finding PC games, all ready to download. There are more platforms out there, though. The Epic Games and Origins store to name a few.

These platforms provide an endless experience for gaming fanatics.

You will never run out of things to play. Steam also has thousands of exclusive titles that you can’t play on any other platform.

It’s also a platform for small indie game developers to publish their work. So not only will you be playing some original, unique games, you’ll also be supporting their journey and success as a ‘newly born’ gaming studio, too!

#3: Play great games for only £2

I know. I couldn’t believe it either when I visited the Steam store.

You can grab some games for an absolute bargain. The store will even let you filter and browse thousands of games under £5. That’s how much Steam has to offer, at such little price.

It’s great for when you’re itching to play a new game but you haven’t been paid from work yet.

Steam really does cater for everyone, and it really adds to the PC gaming experience.

#4: Choose their lifespan without worrying about going out of date

What makes a good PC is the components inside it. Duh.

As you would imagine, this is comprised of different parts: from the graphics card, to the CPU, to the RAM.

The cool thing about PC’s, is that you can remove an old graphics card and replace it with a new one, all by yourself. The same can be done with the RAM or the CPU.

That means that you can upgrade when you choose to, without having to go through the hassle of letting it dust away while you try and figure out what your next PC will be.

You can customise your PC and have it fit the play style that you want to adopt. You may want to splash out on a bigger graphics card but keep your current CPU because it will improve your experience on a particular game in a certain way – the choice is yours.

Finally, the doubts

As amazing as it all sounds, I know that gaming PC’s don’t come very cheap.

But there are options.

You can purchase a gaming PC on finance and pay it off monthly if you’re not prepared to splash out on one all at once – most people do this and it’s a very common format with most e-commerce sites.

Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet.

A gaming PC can offer endless hours of gaming with exceptionally enhanced performance compared to a console.

There is quite literally nothing like it.

Sure, they can be expensive, but you have to wonder what value you are getting for your money.

From someone who has transitioned from console gaming to PC gaming, I can promise you the value is there.
