The newest Marvel film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantmania, is unlike any other Marvel film in the past. This film is part of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. We follow the lives of Scott Lang and his daughter Cassie Lang, Hank Pym, Hope van Dyne and even Janet van Dyne, after the events of the Blip and the battle against Thanos. This film takes place mainly in the Quantum Realm. However, the Quantum Realm is seen differently than in past Marvel films. It involves new creatures and beings, new characters, scenes that resemble certain aspects of the Star Wars films, surprise characters from the previous films, new scenery, and a whole lot of unexpected twists.
In this movie, the legendary Kang the Conqueror from the Marvel Comics is finally seen, coming face to face with Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man. Kang’s introduction was hinted at the end of season one of Loki, but then he was known as He Who Remains. He had warned Sylvie, a variant of Loki, and Loki that if they killed him more variants of him would appear, more deadly and dangerous than himself. Nevertheless, Sylvie, who was consumed and driven by grief and revenge for having her life stolen from her, killed He Who Remains, unleashing his variants and allowing the Multiverse to branch out, which could lead to a Multiversal war.
The film is filled with action, suspense, fantasy, and of course humour. The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantmania mixes the old Marvel films from the phases before and brings in something new to conclude the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This film will have you on the edge of your seat, taking you through twists and turns, making you guess what will happen next. This film is anything but ant-sized. Watch the film and join the latest mania of the Quantum Realm.
