We have summarised the various roles available within our community below. If you are interested in signing up for any of these opportunities, please fill out the accompanying form and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Our work experience opportunities operate on a very flexible basis:
- Join our bank of writers and submit articles at your leisure to be reviewed and published by our team of editors.
- Join our team of editors to access a queue of articles that you can practise your editing skills on, sharing the workload with your team members.
- Become a chief editor to build on your editorial experience and act as another level of quality assurance.
- Join our growing team of designers to be on hand for any design requests by our writers.
- Become a recruiter for No Extra Source, using LinkedIn to bring in more community members so that they can access our awesome opportunities.
- The best part? No previous experience in the same role is needed! We’ll provide comprehensive guides to your new role so that you can slot right in and learn on the go!
There is no minimum workload nor any strict deadlines to meet. You can create your own working schedule around your existing timetable and availability, varying day by day.

Writer
For this writer role, then, you join our existing community of contributing content creators. The topic of these articles is completely up to you, though we can provide guidance on topics if you would prefer. We do suggest, however, that coming up with your own ideas would be more beneficial to you, as you can write about career-specific subjects, areas that interest you and fields that showcase your wide-reaching knowledge and expertise.
There is no quota nor deadlines for articles that you produce – think of No Extra Source as your very own publishing platform.
We will set you up with an account on WordPress, which is our host site. Once set up, you can draft articles at your convenience and submit them for publication when ready. From there, our editing team will review them and get them published to our site ASAP!
If you fancy a bit of extra flair for a specific article, get in touch with our graphic design team who can create an epic graphic to be used as the featured image for your article. Please be aware that there will be a delay between article submission and publication in order to allow our editors time to get round to it.
You will be provided with a guide on how to set up your WordPress account and how to create a draft on the site to submit for review. Every step of the process will be guided and overseen by our helpful team members.
No previous experience is required for this role, and we mean that.

Designer
For this designer role, we ask you to join a bank of designers who work on a very flexible basis. Writers will be producing articles on a regular basis and may request a graphic design to accompany their piece – that’s where you come in! We will give you a short brief on the article and it is then your responsibility to create a relevant, high-quality animated image to act as the featured image for the article.
You will be given full guidance on this process, including a brand style guide and example animations upon which to base your designs, though opportunities to flex your innovative creativity are abundant here.
There is no minimum work experience for this role, though you are expected to be proficient in graphic design in order to create high-quality graphics for our outgoing content.
Every step of the process will be guided and overseen by our helpful team members. There is no minimum or maximum workload, nor any strict deadlines to work to. Any available requests will be given to designers and those who are available and willing to create can contribute.
This is a chance for upcoming designers to test out, develop and showcase their design skills in order to build a solid portfolio. This opportunity is designed to suit you and we can’t wait to see what you can come up with.

Editor
For this editor role, then, we ask you to join our team of editors who work through the queue of articles submitted by our writers. It will be your responsibility to proofread, review and publish these articles on our site. As you will schedule these articles to be published ahead of time, a chief editor will act as a second quality check and will provide the opportunity for educational feedback on your work.
We operate entirely on WordPress as our site host, and you will be provided with a guide on how to set up your WordPress account and how to access the resources needed for editing.
No previous experience in editing is required for this role, though proficiency in the English language, grammatical accuracy and writing skills are needed for this position.
The process will be guided and overseen by our helpful team members to ensure that you know what you are doing and can gain some valuable experience from it.

Chief Editor
For this chief editor role, then, we ask you to read through articles that have already been reviewed by our editors as a second level of quality assurance. The changes required should be minimal, and we like to keep articles as close to the original writer’s voice as possible.
Editors will edit these articles and attach an image to the piece before scheduling the piece to go live on our site. Before this point, it will be your responsibility to re-read these articles. You will also provide consistent feedback to both writers and editors where relevant so that they can learn from their mistakes and improve upon them.
We operate entirely on WordPress as our site host, and you will be provided with a guide on how to set up your WordPress account and how to access the resources needed for editing.
Previous experience in editing is required for this role, though no specific experience as a ‘chief editor’ is required.

For this recruiter role, we ask you to work flexibly to recruit a consistent flow of members to our community. This process will primarily be carried out via LinkedIn, and you will be guided completely through the process to ensure that you know what you are doing. As this process goes on, we will switch between recruiting writers and editors in order to maintain balance.
You will operate on LinkedIn, Outlook and WordPress, and you will be provided with a guide on how to set up your WordPress account.
No previous recruitment experience is required for this role, and we mean that.
